Fellow Sportsman:

Over the past 15 years, I have served in the Illinois state capitol as the chief lobbyist for the Illinois State Rifle
Association.

I lobbied Barack Obama extensively while he was an Illinois State Senator. As a result of that

experience, I know Obama's attitudes toward guns and gun owners better than anyone. The truth be

told, in all my years in the Capitol I have never met a legislator who harbors more contempt for

the law-abiding firearm owner than Barack Obama.

Although Obama claims to be an advocate for the 2nd Amendment, his voting

record in the Illinois Senate paints a very different picture. While a state senator, Obama voted

for a bill that would ban nearly every hunting rifle, shotgun and target rifle owned by Illinois citizens.

That same bill would authorize the state police to raid homes of gun owners and forcibly confiscate

banned guns. Obama supported a bill that would shut down law-abiding firearm manufacturers

including Springfield Armory, Armalite, Rock River Arms and Les Baer. Obama also voted for a bill

that would prohibit law-abiding citizens from purchasing more than one gun per month.

Without a doubt, Barack Obama has proven himself to be an enemy of the law abiding firearm owner. At

the same time, Obama has proven himself to be a friend to the hardened criminal. While a state senator,

Obama voted 4 times against legislation that would allow a homeowner to use a firearm in defense of

home and family.

Does Barack Obama still sound to you like a friend of the law-abiding gun owner?

And speaking of friends, you can always tell a person by the company they keep. Obama counts

among his friends the Rev. Michael Pfleger - a renegade Chicago priest who has openly called for the

murder of gun shop owners and pro-gun legislators. Then there is his buddy Richard Daley, the mayor

of Chicago who has declared that if it were up to him, nobody would be allowed to own a gun. And let's

not forget Obama's pal George Soros - the guy who has pumped millions of dollars into the UN's

international effort to disarm law-abiding citizens.

Obama has shown that he is more than willing to use other people's money to fund his campaign to

take your guns away from you. While a board member of the leftist Joyce Foundation, Barack Obama wrote

checks for tens of millions of dollars to extremist gun control organizations such as the Illinois

Council Against Handgun Violence and the Violence Policy Center.

Does Barack Obama still sound to you like a friend of the law-abiding gun owner?

By now, I'm sure that many of you have received mailings from an organization called

The American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA) talking about what a swell fellow Obama is and

how he honors the 2 Amendment and how you will never have to worry about Obama coming to take

your guns. Let me make it perfectly clear - everything the AHSA says about Obama is pure hogwash.

The AHSA is headed by a group of left-wing elitists who subscribe to the British view of hunting and shooting.

That is, a state of affairs where hunting and shooting are reserved for the wealthy upper-crust who can afford

guided hunts on exclusive private reserves.

The AHSA is not your friend, never will be.

In closing, I'd like to remind you that I'm a guy who has actually gone nose to nose with Obama on gun rights

issues. The Obama I know cannot even begin to identify with this nationï¿½s outdoor traditions The Obama I

know sees you, the law abiding gun owner, as nothing but a low-class lummox who is easily swayed by the

flash of a smile and a ration of rosy rhetoric. The Obama I know is a stony-faced liar who has honed

his skill at getting what he wants - so long as people are willing to give it to him.

That's the Barack Obama I know.

Open Letter to Sportsmen:10/10/08

This page is intended to serve as a reminder and a source of information about who we are and how we got here. More than 230 years ago, the colonists had endured more taxations and usurpations than they could stand, and stood up to the oppression of England. Since then, our rights have been eroded to the point that we are not much better off than we were then. I wonder if the officials we have elected have ever read these documents, or if they understand or care what they mean.

Dear Mr. President,
About 170 years ago, my ancestors (both family sides) moved to Texas from Germany. They came here to find a better way of life for themselves and for their children. They immigrated legally. They laid down the German Flag and they picked up the American flag. I'm sure that some fought on either side during the civil war. They fought, and some died in both World Wars, Korea, Viet Nam, and both Iraq wars and Afghanistan. I am a patriotic person. I respect, and I thank God every day, for those that have stood and fought for my rights as an american citizen.
It seemed a slap in my face when I realized I was required to pay for illegal immigrants children to be educated. Slapped again, pay for their medical expenses. Slapped again, my government debates whether to allow them to have my social security benefits. Slapped again, offer them amnesty.
Tell me, Mr. President, why the burden falls to those of us whose forefathers have paid for our well being to carry these criminals who have infiltrated our borders.
It occurs to me that I should go to Mexico and renounce my citizenship and sneak back across the border.
Let me say right now that I am not opposed to immigration from Mexico or any other nation. I know what built this great nation. It was the oppressed people coming here from other lands. People who were poor and wanted a better life for themselves and for their children. People who came here legally and shared the burdens and dreams of this nation. They helped change this from the rugged wilderness that it was into the world leader that it is. They did not turn it into the wanton slum from which they fled.
Allow me to quote the Preamble to the Declaration Of Independence if I may:
"Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. Mr. President, I am in no way suggesting revolution. I am suggesting that the leaders of my nation take a minute to reflect and understand how we got here. Read again (I hope) "Common Sense":

I find it shameful to have to remind the President to look where we came from. How much longer will the American people suffer to have their rights given away? How many laws will be passed that take away from the Constitution and the Bill Of Rights until it becomes insufferable?
Mr. President, please, use your power and influence to protect and serve those who empower you. Pass no more laws on immigration or amnesty unless it is amnesty for our own citizens who's rights have been consumed by laws that contradict the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Send these criminals who have infiltrated our borders back to their native lands. Instead of enacting laws to give them amnesty. Abolish laws requiring law abiding citizens to pay to educate their children, to pay for their welfare and to pay for their healthcare.

There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January. In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the month of January. That's just one American city, about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.

When some claim that President Bush shouldn't have started this war, tell them the following:

FDR (DEMOCRAT) led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us; Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost .... an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman (DEMOCRAT) finished that war and started one in Korea. North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ... an average of 18,334 per year.

John F. Kennedy (DEMOCRAT) started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us.

Clinton (DEMOCRAT) went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent. Bosnia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

This one is a fact that makes me mad as hell.

In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. And the Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking.

But Wait, There's more.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno (DEMOCRAT) to take the Branch Davidian compound. That was a 51-day operation.

We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton (DEMOCRAT) to find the Rose law firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!
Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB! The Military morale is high!
The biased media hopes we are too ignorant to realize the facts.

Some people still don't understand why military personnel do what they do for a living. This exchange between Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one man's explanation of why men and women in the armed services do what they do for a living.

This IS a typical, though sad, example of what some who have never served think of the military.

Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
'How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?'

Senator Glenn (D-Ohio): 'I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps. I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions. My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't mycheckbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the daily cash receipts to the bank. I ask you to go with me, as I went the other day... to a veteran's hospital and look those men ... with their mangled bodies ... in the eye, and tell THEM they didn't hold a job!

You go with me to the Space Program at NASA and go, as I have gone, to the widows and orphans of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee ... and you look those kids in the eye and tell them that their DAD'S didn't hold a job.

You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in Arlington National Cemetery, where I have more friends buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch those waving flags. You stand there, and you think about this nation, and you have the gall to tell ME that those people didn't have a job?

What about Metzenbaum? For those who don't remember During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney representing the Communist Party in the USA.

Now he's a Senator!

Edmund Burke In Memorial This week, the UK removed The Holocaust from its school curriculum because it "offended" the Muslim population which claims it never occurred. This is a frightening portent of the fear that is gripping the world and how easily each country is giving into it. It is now more than 60 years after the Second World War in Europe ended. This is a memorial , in memory of the six million Jews, 20 million Russians, 10 million Christians and 1,900 Catholic priests who were murdered, massacred, raped, burned, starved and humiliated while the German and Russian peoples looking the other way! Now, more than ever, with Iran, among others, claiming the Holocaust to be "a myth," it is imperative to make sure the world never forgets. How many years will it be before the attack on the World Trade Center "never happened" because it offends some Muslim in the U.S.??????
